Public art at its best transforms ordinary places into spaces of discovery, learning, reflection, social critique, and simple joy. Here at Pitt, we have launched a new program to revitalize our public art collection and integrate it into the multidimensional life of the University.
In the months and years to come, we will be actively researching the existing public art on campus, and also seeking your creative ideas about how we can expand public art on campus and engage with it in new and exciting ways. Whether we create temporary or permanent installations, or reinterpret what we already have, our goal is to make public art a vital part of the campus community.
